Executive Producer Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan, Prime, A Simple Plan) selected SHINE to design and create titles for his new series, CRIMINAL MINDS. SHINE’s conceptual approach to designing the series title was guided Gordon’s goal to graphically emphasize the profile processes used by the FBI’s Behavior Analysis Unit. The concept for the sequence was inspired by, and reflects, Russian Constructivism and the Constructivist Graphic Design movement of the early twentieth century.

In this particular project I was given storyboards consisting of eight frames for what would become the :30 title. Using selects I had chosen from the first four episodes, I cropped and animated the assets while incorporating the geometric elements to create a flowing Constructivist feel desired by the Creative Director.
